Decision Map for Solo Founders

The solo founder has the purest decision-making model: no committees, no internal politics, no need for consensus. Decide and move forward.

It's also the most dangerous decision-making model: no counterargument, no external perspective, no filter to stop a bad decision before it becomes costly.

The Decision Map for the Solo Founder

A decision map is a simple tool: classify all recurring decisions into 4 quadrants and define the protocol for each.

  • Quadrant 1 – Urgent + Important: Decide alone, immediately, document in 2 sentences
  • Quadrant 2 – Important + Non-urgent: Dedicated thinking block, minimum 2 contradictory perspectives
  • Quadrant 3 – Urgent + Non-important: Delegate or resolve with pre-set rule
  • Quadrant 4 – Non-urgent + Non-important: Eliminate or automate

The solo founder's problem isn't that they make bad decisions – it's that they make good and bad decisions with the same level of energy and attention. That's waste.<<
